What is Exchange Online Protection?
Exchange Online Protection (EOP) is a cloud-hosted email filtering service; it protects the subscribed users against spam and malware, and also helps in implementing custom policy rules.
How long does it take to bring EOP into effect?
As soon as the mail starting flowing through EOP after changes take place in your MX records, the filtering is set into motion. Note that it might take 24-48 hours for the MX record change to propagate through the DNS. The settings for protection can be adjusted in the Exchange admin center (EAC) during the course of this process.
