How to Set Up Copilot for Microsoft 365 as Your Digital Assistant App on Android?
A digital assistant is a software-based application or service that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP) to perform tasks, provide information, or assist users in various activities. These assistants are typically accessed through voice commands, text input, or user interface interactions on devices such as smartphones, tablets, computers, smart speakers, and other internet-connected devices.
The latest beta version of Microsoft Copilot allows you to set it as your default assistant on Android devices. Traditionally, Google Assistant held this role, but Copilot provides an alternative option.
As of now, you can set Microsoft 365 Copilot as your Default Digital Assistant on Android phones, replacing Google Assistant or Gemini. To do so, follow these steps.
- First, you need to Install the Microsoft Copilot (Beta) app from the Google Play Store.
- Once the application has been downloaded, open the Settings app on your Android Phone.
- Navigate to Apps > Default apps > Digital Assistant app.
- Now Tap on Default Google Assistant at the top, once it’s open.
- Then you need to select Copilot and confirm your choice, as seen in the Screenshot below.
You can activate Copilot on any screen by either long-pressing the power button or swiping up from the bottom corners of your phone.When you long-press the power button, the Microsoft 365 Copilot assistance window will appear, as shown in the figure below.Once the Copilot window opens, you can prompt the following prompt ”Make an image of the red shoe.”
